The Path OF AWAKENING: Becoming Grounded, Centered and Uplifted with Sound

by Rasamayi Turtuici
In the course of conducting my sound and spiritual healing sessions, I often recommend that the client enter into regular practice with particular meditations, healing crystals and especially singing bowls. The clients understandably want to know WHY I make the recommendations I do, and I think it is important that they are educated in the intentions and methods of their healing. I similarly want to empower you on your own healing and awakening journey by giving a more thorough explanation of this process, providing you with additional tools and information to pursue the most direct possible route on your path to healing, transformation and service.
With the understanding that the ultimate goal of the human experience and the spiritual path is to AWAKEN to your divine essence – connecting with All That Is and embodying your divine self – in my experience there are three spiritual gifts which are essential to that process: grounding, centering and uplifting. It is essential to understand that these three practices, when perfected, lead automatically to Awakening.
There are many specific tools towards these ends: meditation, yoga, tai chi, chi gong, crystal healing, reiki healing, chakra healing, breathwork exercises, natural medicines and medicinal foodsand of course, sound healing. Each practice tends to primarily accomplish one of these goals, although any practice when perfected leads to all three. However, sound – as the essence of creation -can focus on any of the three, and even accomplish all three simultaneously.
So what does it mean to be Grounded? Centered? Uplifted? And how do we get there?
The essence of grounding is the process of connecting to the Earth. Shamanic and Earth magic practices are the primary paths which facilitate the grounding process. This in turn facilitates the individual’s capacity to release blocked energy which no longer serves, inviting Divine to transmute it into something which can better serve them and others. Often, the energetic process is similar to the rooting of a tree: the roots connect with Earth, and through that connection, the tree willrelease toxic waste substancesand receive the water and essential nutrients it needs to survive.
In our chakra system, grounding is understood to take place in the second (sacral or sexual) and third (solar plexus) chakras, but especially in the first or root chakra. In connecting with Divine via the root chakra, and especially when we hold this conscious intention, we release old energy to Divine and Divine gives us what we need to be sustained and grow.
